New Orleans Center

for the Study of Family Systems, LLC

The Family Center was established to provide affordable psychotherapy, supervision, education and workshops for the Greater New Orleans area. Individuals, couples and families are assisted in solving major life problems through understanding and improving their functioning in important relationships. Some of the common problems addressed at the Center are anxiety, depression, marital conflict, behavioral problems, and family conflict.

The therapist helps the clientl look at their current struggle in the context of a larger emotional system in which they live, both past and present.  The client is encouraged to focus on self and take responsbility for the direcction of their own life. One of the main goals of therapy is to help the individual, couple or family develope knowledge of repeating patterns and learn ways to contain their feelings and act on the facts as opposed to responding automatically to their feelings.  Most people are initially seen weekly but after some time are usually seen bi-weekly.
